OUR SYDNEY TOWN HALL TOUR

Painting of Clover Moore.
This picture has been painted on a piece of carpet and then framed. ( Our PROBUS group in the Council chambers and our group singing on stage.)

On Tuesday May 23rd a group of probus members travelled to Sydney where we enjoyed a tour of The Sydney Town Hall.
We almost bumped into the Mayor , Clover Moore as she arrived for her day, she wished us all good morning and hurried on .
It was a very interesting tour and everyone enjoyed it .
We marvelled at the beautiful ceilings ,chandelliers , paintings, sculptures etc that one doesn't get to see when one goes to watch a performance in the Town Hall
We were shown back stage and into the "green room", even stood on stage and say a song together (like voices of angels we reckon)....
We were taken into the Lord Mayors receptions rooms etc, visited the council chambers and generally had a good look at the parts of the Town Hall the public just don't see except on one of these tours.
The Sydney Town Hall is a magnificent building with such a lot of history attached.
I am sure we all learned something (history wise) that we didn't know about before the tour.
After the tour we all went round to the ( Catholic) club for lunch.
A lovely day was had by all before we all returned to Central Coast by train....

The PROBUS club of Gosford West

Hello from the PROBUS club of Gosford West.
We are the oldest PROBUS club on the Central Coast
and we think the "friendliest".
We have recently celebrated our 31 st birthday and we have about 60 members.
We are a combined male/female club and welcome couples
and /or singles into our ranks.
We meet at Narara Community Centre.
2 Pandala Rd Narara on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 10 am.
We have a 2 hour meeting each month which includes an interesting guest speaker .
We have a cuppa and morning tea about 11am so we can all get to have a chat
before our meeting continues.

Your 1st visit with us entitles you to a free morning tea,
subsequent visits and or if you join our club will cost you $4.00 for morning tea.
We have outings, day trips, lunches , and 5-6 day trips away.

There is always something happening to suit your budget and your lifestyle.

You will make some nice friends within our club and
enjoy some great outings etc.if you are that way inclined
Joining our club will cost you $15.00 and then it is $25.00 a year to stay a member.
PROBUS clubs are really friendship clubs for retired and semi - retired folk
who like to stay active and enjoy meeting new friends.
( STRANGERS are just FRIENDS we haven't met yet....)
