Captain Cook Morning Tea Cruise 25th September 2014

After several days of beautiful sunshine  on the Coast we woke to over cast and threatening weather on Sept. 25th .
A group of us (not put off  by the  threatening weather) took the train to Sydney and then  set sail on the beautiful Captain Cook cruise boat.. we hoped we didn't end up lost at sea somewhere out there  in the middle of a storm but all was well, Captain Cook didn't let us down, nor did the weather man and the storm and rain held off until we got back on dry land thankfully.
The boat (more like a small ship)  was beautiful, the morning tea enjoyable and the views of the harbour and surrounds were as spectacular as they usually are only this time under grey skies and the threat of rain.
Sydney Harbour is still beautiful though and we all enjoyed the trip regardless of the grey and cloudy skies above us..
Even saw some dolphins playing in the bow waves of a boat in the Harbour  at one stage which surely must be a sign that the Harbour is becoming cleaner and healthier.
We cruised around the foreshores  and saw some of the fine real estate around the harbour side, we   saw susan Ranouf's old shack and the house that Oprah Winfrey was shacked up in while in Sydney also saw some of the hidden coves and bays and beaches that are hard to find unless on a cruise like this.
Called in at Darling Harbour and on the way back we even saw a bride having wedding photo's taken .
Once back on land ( though it wasn't that dry by then) most of our  group lunched together  at a restaurant at the Quay.
Some took off as they had left some windows open back home and wanted to get back before the rain hit the Central Coast.
Nice day out  regardless of the weather.!!!! For those who were unable to make it for some reason, please know that we missed you and hope to see you at our next meeting , Thursday October 9th.
Thanks Mick for organising another nice trip, enjoyed by all who participated....
Some photos of the trip  below.....

NO .....   THIS WASN'T OUR BOAT , ours was a bit smaller ....

Some of the happy Captain Cook CREW on Board THE BOAT.

Did someone say morning Tea was ready ? ? ? ? ? ?

Yep, There it is.... all in a neat little box, all you need now is a cuppa and you are set to sail.
A cake a lamington a Tim Tam and some cookies, and  a cuppa, what more could you want ?

A daggy old cruise ship held us up for awhile while it docked.

It is still a beautiful building  , even under  gray sky's

FORT DENISON

Guess who lives here .????

Darling harbour ship museum. Notice that SKY.

Captain Cook had already arrived on the ENDEAVOUR and was waiting for us at the quay.

This place bought back some memories of our youth....
Some of us might not be,
BUT he is still smiling after all these years, and he still has all of his teeth too.

The watch house at you know who's house ?

The weather came rolling in, but not until we were almost back on dry land.

Wedding Photos , a pretty bride getting photo's taken,
just  hope she didn't get too close to the edge of that wharf.
Would have made that a real "Splash Up" wedding eh ?
