Christmas in July Lunch at BREAKERS club Terrigal / Wamberal

Today we met for our Probus outing "Christmas in July Lunch" at the  Breakers club at Terrigal/Wamberal....
Thanks Mick for organising another lovely lunch get together.
The Roast Turkey dinner and the plum pudding desert was really lovely.
The tables all looked very festive and the room was set up beautifully for us....
We had a lovely entertainer singing songs for us and as a special treat she bought her lovely 11 yr old singer daughter along to also entertain us.
Lucky for us it was school holidays and we were able to be entertained by both mother and daughter.
Both lovely singers .
Photos below are of our Probus Club group enjoying the lovely lunch and entertainment.... Those who attended enjoyed lunch etc , those who forgot to attend , " Sorry Kathy but you missed a lovely lunch gathering".

The Lakes Grammer School Careers Day, Tuesday 24th May 2016

Our Probus Club were again asked to take part in The Lakes Grammar School Careers day on Tues  24th May.
Six of our members volunteered  to take part in Mock interviews with the students.
The year 10 students are asked to come to school  dressed as they would for  a job interview and they would then  be interviewed by us.
Each room  was allocated to two of us and we would then interview the students who were allocated to each interview room.
We had a list of questions and were to fill in a form  to let the Students Careers officer Mrs James, know how well we thought each student had performed in the interview and what if anything needed to be improved on.
This is to help the students be prepared and ready for REAL interviews.
This was a great success again this year and  60 to 80 Students were interviewed.
This gives the student some experience with being interviewed by strangers, and our feed back to them is always well received.
This year our interview teams were.

John and Joan Vaughan,
Judi and John Edgington,
Peter Mumford and Lori Morris

The Lakes Grammer school looked after this group by picking them up by taxi and delivering them home by taxi.
They provided  morning tea and a light lunch and also gave each interviewer a nice bottle of wine as a thank you gift.
The students from this school are always very impressive and those of us who attended these Mock interviews again this year all  feel the future is in good hands with such great young people coming along.
Thank you to all those who gave up their time and attended, well done everyone.......
