We boarded the Riverboat Postman catamaran and set out on our adventure.
The weather was overcast but not cold and the rain held off until we arrived home thankfully. We had a lovely morning tea Freshly made tea and coffee and home made ANZAC biscuits...
All enjoyed the both. A few hours into the trip we were all given a lovely ploughmans lunch. See below ......... Again, enjoyed by all.................

At many of the drop off points we were met by a dog who knew the sound of the boat and came to receive an ANZAC biscuit.
The boat Captain knew all the dogs by name ( Sox, Suzie and Dougal are some I can remember), and also all the history of the river.
His commentary was very interesting.
He explained that in one area they (the residents) have their own little Kingdom / Republic where they have their own government etc. Their rules etc sounded good until we looked further into them.
(1) They don't pay Car registration ....They have NO cars.
(2) They don't pay Electricity or Water rate ...... There is none.
(3) There is NO cost to go ashore ....There is a $5,000 departure tax though.
They elect their own king who we met when the boat pulled into one of the the wharves .
Our President Phyllis went and shock hands with him and knocked his hat/crown off in the process, it was last seen floating down stream. Luckily our boat took off fast to save her from being sent to the tower....
